MHA is a Non-Government , and Non-Profit Organization dedicated to serve the people in difficult circumstances particularly the widows and children , the victims of long time insurgency and counter insurgency in Mizoram and its adjoining north east states in India.

Under the stewardship of Ms. Vironica K. Zatluangi , the president, Mizoram Hmeithai (Widows) Association was awarded with NATIONAL AWARD FOR CHILD WELFARE 2002 , By Government of India , Ministry of Human Resources Development , Department of Women and Child Development, in public recognition of the valuable services to the community rendered in the field of child welfare.
